Legal Aid Foundation Of Santa Barbara County

Our Mission is to ensure that low-income people and seniors have access to the civil justice system - to secure safe shelter, adequate income, and protection from domestic violence and elder abuse.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN 2007-08
  • We served a total of 4,721 Santa Barbara county residents.
  • Legal Aid attorneys fully represented 854 clients in various legal matters.
  • Staff and volunteer attorneys provided assistance to 3,867 self represented litigants (up 17% from 2006-07) at the Santa Barbara, Santa Maria and Lompoc court house self help centers.
  • Volunteer attorneys with our Project Outreach and Senior Outreach programs counseled over 327 visitors to the Franklin, Westside, Goleta Valley and Carpinteria Community Centers.
